The short film A View from the Cliff reflects on the abyss that separates geological time from human time. Etretat’s cliffs in Normandy, often reduced to a dramatic yet passive background, become an active protagonist with a history. The question about the past of the cliffs activates another question about the future of humanity. What was once alive turned into rocks - will our sediments, in turn, become someone else’s landscape?
